Family Winemaking

Schweiger Vineyards is proud to remain independent and family owned. Our Proprietors Fred & Sally Schweiger have lived and worked on this land since the 1960s; it’s not uncommon for visitors to be welcomed by both in our tasting room. We are one of the distinguished multi-generation wineries with a father/son grower/winemaker team who have been working together for over 20 years. Our winery is located 2,000 feet above the Napa Valley, a 15-minute drive from downtown St. Helena. Spring Mountain Road wineries require appointments, so whether you are visiting or a local, let us help you plan ahead.

Our Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon

Estate grown on the eastern slopes of Spring Mountain overlooking the Napa Valley, 2016 is the newest vintage of our Cabernet Sauvignon, and it’s quite the vixen. The color alone is striking—an inky shade of garnet that verges on black velvet. The entry is plush but then meanders into an intensely layered mid-palate of blackberry, boysenberry, and pomegranate. Mingling with the fruit components are gentle notes of oak, tobacco, and wild bramble.

This 2014 Dedication™ marks the 14th release of our Bordelais project. This wine is a complex and fruity blend incorporating the four most common varietals used in this style of wine: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. Blending such a wine is one of the most fun and rewarding parts of our winemaker’s job. On the nose, our 2014 Dedication™ offers rich dark fruit with faint seasonings of toasted flaxseed, cumin, star anise, and minerals. This vintage is a higher than usual percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives it an added weight and complexity, yet its layers remain silky in texture with a delicate rose petal finish.
